Melanie Mackin earned her Bachelor's degree from Smith College and was a 1984 graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law. During her 19-year career, Melanie dedicated herself to representing management in the areas of workers' compensation, intentional torts, and safety violations and to defending state-fund employers in rate disputes and non-compliance matters. In addition to her primary practice, Melanie frequently lectured on workers' compensation matters and served as an expert witness on workers’ compensation.
Melanie was a member of Ohio’s Workers' Compensation Specialty Board, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Workers' Compensation Law Committee, the Dayton Bar Association, and the Southwest Ohio Self-Insured Association.
Melanie’s significant accomplishments as an attorney were equaled by the impact she made on the lives of others as a member of the Dayton legal community, as a mother, and as a friend.
